Feeling confused

I am having trouble getting into the construction of the curriculum design. Though we have our two curriculums to critique, have the Common Core practices as the "yardstick" by which to evaluate them, I'm still not sure - format wise - of what we should do. Should we type a report concerning each or is it meshed into a bullet-style format of practices listed and then + or - as to how each curriculum falls ( and is this in our opinion that we're deciding?) Need for Dr. Love to give us some clarification, I guess. Two weeks will be here quickly.

  1. You decide. One comparison I read (published by Scholastic) listed the standards of each area of development and then in the 2nd column listed how (and which part of) the curriculum met that standard - not really a critique, but the chart provides the information that one could then write a report as to what the two curricula meet/don't meet in the area of curriculum you are examining. On that you base the curriculum you are building. One feeds the other. Whatever format makes sense to you is fine. I don't know if that helps. We will meet tomorrow in groups so that you can work together and ask me questions, too. When helpful we can discuss as a group what each has decided so far and next steps. Thanks for emailing me to look at your blog. I've been checking them and hadn't seen this last one. It sounds like you all are on the right track!
